Poetry of Sri Swami Premvarni Ji

As we stood alone
enveloped by the darkness

of the moonless night

thou hast all of a sudden

whispered sweetly in my heart,

"You and I are One."

And then it seemed

a million suns burst

upon the sky

and in that glorious radiance

of thy love,

the secret mystery

of my being

revealed itself

in wondrous splendor.

They blame me for I serve Thee not well

but they declare their love for Thee

only from a distance.

........................

The Eye knows

that the Ocean

is contained

in the drop

of my Heart's tear

........................

The restless waves wander

from Source to Shore

In their thirst for water

The Rays of the flame flicker

from within

outwards

in search of light

And my Delusion wanders

from Life to Death

in search of my own

Reality.

Jaise me hun dharapan:

As I am in the mirror

and the mirror

is in my hand

So my beloved

lives in my Heart

and my heart

is in his hand.

........................

You were always here

but I always

sought you there

And so I never found you

Just as the first step

on the Eternal Journey

is the Goal

So the first impulse

of your pure will

is your Source.

All in a paradox

Locked

What is

and that which is not

The seeking

And that which is sought

All in a paradox

not Myself

from the paradox I am free

All in illusions dream

locked

until we discover

the key.

........................

And now you dance

away my dream

In the rhythm of sorrow

And suffering

In the tune of now

And eternity

In the empty space

Of Infinity.

Now the lasting

Lesson of my Life

The Truth and Teaching

This moment fills

all moments

in a day

Remember who you are

and Purely play.

In the reflection

of the formless flame

I hear the sound

of the Silent Name

In the direction

of the sacred center

I follow the Light

and slowly surrender

All dreams and desires

in the Purifying Fire.

The sky sends forth

her sadness

With a sprinkling of rain

And the sun drinks

All her darkness

Yet full of light remains

My heart sends forth

her sorrow

in a stream of

trickling tears

And the drinker

of my darkness

is the ever silent

seer.

Love is the way

to carry on

this journey

Beloved I pray

you will not be gone

when I reach the sun

I came for you

I am your real nature

I am your true reflection

I am the space in which you are dancing

I am your hidden door

........................

Out of the central space

of your infinity

You gathered yourself

into a form

And silently entered

my world.

In the temple

of my Heart

I Light each Star

in the Sky

one by one

Each is a spark

of my Heart's Hope

........................

In her Dress of Darkness

the fragrant night

Offers her garland

of Jasmine stars

........................

Prem Sangam

Open, Open temple door

giving way

the twirling impulse

of devoted longings

Giving entrance

to the breathtaking manifestation

of the one Divine Desire

Discover, Find, Be

Waves of pure emotion

feelings and understanding

Body, Soul

Atma, Paratma

Your face hidden in garlands

lips like rosepetals

Softly you dwell

in the Lotus velvet

of Self-evident perfection

From mouths the

Sacred Sound

of sharing devotion

Brilliant Lightning

of Golden Light

illuminating the dome

of your Holy Home

Bursting Lazy walls

of ignorant darkness

in the fireworks

of Cosmic Perception

Melting them

in the Divine

Ecstatic Bliss

of Oneness.
