Swami Balyogi Premvarni was born in North India, in a village situated between the sacred rivers of Ganga and Yamuna. Early in life he developed a keen interest in the science and Philosophy of Yoga. He renounced worldly life and left his family in childhood, traveling to the valley of Rishikesh where he studied under the spiritual authority of Himalayan Masters. Later, he pursued an intense sadhana (spiritual practice), living in austerity in mountain caves and on the banks of the Ganges.

In an extraordinarily short time, he achieved mastery
of 500 Hatha Yoga asanas, 100 pranayamas, and all the important kriyas, bandhas, and sutras associated with Kundalini Yoga. Through the practice of Raja Yoga and Gyana Yoga, he also attained deep and profound realization of the many levels of Being and Consciousness.

His inner experiences led to mystically-inspired poetic outpourings, which have been widely admired by Indian spiritual leaders and literary masters. His five volumes of Bhakti Yoga (divine love) poems have been praised for their esoteric quality and high mysticism.

In 1960, Swami Premvarni established the Yogant Foundation and Academy in the Himalayan foothills. There, in a beautiful and secluded jungle area overlooking the Ganges, he dedicated his services to the mission of awakening Superconsciousness in spiritual aspirants from all parts of the world.

In 1976, Swamiji was invited to Europe by his devotees to spread his spiritual message. Over the next several years his travels took him to the U.S.A., Japan, and Australia as a visiting Yoga professor.

After returning to the Himalayas, he began to transition his focus away from the daily academic program in order to go deeper into his own spirituality. Over the years, Swamiji has prepared many themes on all
aspects of Yoga science and philosophy, Yoga-therapy, and meditation
.

Swamiji's book, The Science of Consciousness, contains original illustrations describing the nine levels of Being and the balance of life energy. His teachings stress the importance of cultivating a healthy body, clarifying the mind, and purifying the heart, so that one can finally experience the true enjoyment of sensual pleasure, the highest attainment of mental peace, the transcendental realization of the ecstatic Bliss of Self, and knowing and being in cosmic awareness.

As a spiritual guide and Yoga expert, Swamiji relies on the depth of his own inspiration to express his message. The gems of wisdom and love which radiate from his heart deeply uplift the spiritus of those who experience the blessings of his presence.
